GG’s Top Eleven Most Anticipated Games for 2017

Better late than never……Is what this gaming blog, said when it came to it’s most anticipated and game of year for 2017 articles!  So with that elephant out of the room, Let’s see what awaits us in 2017.

Honorable Mentions

Crash n Sane Trilogy

I am huge fan of crash but it is a remaster of an old trilogy of games and it’s hard for me to rate that very high on a list that is suppose to be about what's  new and exciting! Even with that, I'm super stoked about the Crash coming back! Let's just hope we get CTR next!
 Outlast 2

I haven’t finished the first one (mostly because I only play when me and my friends are getting riggity riggity wrecked and crapping our pants) but I really do enjoy it. I think it would be higher if I had the courage to play it by myself.

Cup head

Indie darling that broke onto the list last year. I really am excited for Cuphead and I will probably be one of the few games I buy day one on this list. My only problem is that I think the game and me are suffering from delay fatigue.

2015:  William get’s really excited for Cuphead : Cuphead doesn’t come out
2016: William get’s really excited for Cuphead: Cuphead doesn’t come out
2017: William get’s really excited for Cuphead: ???

Don’t get me wrong, I understand they are doing a hugely time consuming art style is I think maybe the most unique in whole gaming industry in last decade but excitement dies over time at least for me. I want be a sentient mouse with a cup as a head but I hope it happens sooner than later.

 Rick and Morty VR
Rick and Morty was arguable one my favorite shows of last year and I watched breaking bad from beginning to end, anyway that is a huge accomplishment.  I do own a HTC Vive but a lot of the “games” are over glorified tech demos. Now when I heard of a VR game based on R&M was coming out well that got me  bubbling with the potential they could do with the property, like seriously muti-dimestions, Mini verse and Time Travel? I hope it comes out sooner than seasons 3 because who knows when we will get that.

 Resident Evil 7

This game gives me conflicting feelings and yes it already came out and has good reviews so it should be a good game but..... I think this is the right way for the franchise way to go but for me it's not. I have played RE 4,5,6 and now we have 7. I think it should've been reboot and I know it connects to the rest of RE universe but  it is such a Colossal shift for the franchise compared to even the last game RE 6 that was terrible but 4 was quite possibly the best RE game and RE 5 was fun romp. I get if this game is on your top ten but for me, I just can't do it. It's kind of turned into Outlast on setroids what's fine and I will probably  play it with my friends (when ever we finish outlast) but it's not going to be a"true Resident Evil to me".

Hum
I haven't seen a lot about this game but it's enough to get it on the Honorable Mentions part of this list. The game for sure has atmosphere and a very intense setting. I grew up in rural America, So i can definitely relate check out the trailer here  Spooky Scary Skeletons!

Top 11 Most Anticipated Games

11. Star Wars Battlefront 2 (2017)

The Game that could be great or that could very mediocre. Star Wars Battlefront 2 is hopefully going to be what Titanfall 2 was for the original Titanfall. Imagine a fully fleshed out campaign in the Star Wars universe. I would love if maybe they could do a story campaign based on the ground troops of Rouge One. I am just saying there is a lot of opportunity here.  Now with that being said, were talking about EA here but I’m going to give them the benefit of the doubt on this one ( don't make me regret it)
10. Kingdom Come Deliverance
I have had my eye on this game for quite some time. I not much of an RPG guy but the idea of running around in a grounded in reality version of Medieval Europe is way to awesome to pass off. This game's big selling point other than the one above is the game features  large scale battles and that is something that I treasure and I wish were in more on the ground games such as this one. I also like the idea of me playing as evil person and trying to raise an army and take over the kingdom but we will have to wait and see.

9. State of Decay 2

I really got into the first one. Me and my man Marcus got through some heavy stuff together. State of Decay 2  hasn’t released to many trailers but the writing in between lines I think is the important part. I don’t know if there expanding  the scale or what have yeah but if they definitely have Co-op and hey there might be a Day-Z like multiplayer component. We simply don’t know and that is the cool part. Hopefully there is more base building, relationships nuances in this one. I don’t know about you but I’m ready to knock a few heads in.

8. Crackdown 3

I've been waiting for this game ever since I beat Crackdown one and barely started Crackdown 2. I have never played a game like Crackdown One. It really did gave you freedom. For those who haven't played imagine Farcry 3/4 outposts is the whole game and each one   has a boss fight. All you have to do is wipe them all out. It's a game where you are truly are off the leash. You character also levels up through orbs and combat. You go from B cop to Robo cop in no time. Cars also transform into ludicrous  versions of what they used to be. If you can't all I want is a new Crackdown and everything, I have seen of the new one indicates it is doing a right interpretation of the franchise.

7.Yoo-Kaylalle
Where Crash was the past, Yoo-Kalle is the future. This game has looked awesome ever since it was unveiled on Kickstarter. It's bright colors, it's full cast of characters and awesome to be platforming makes it look like a classic in the making. I just love everything that's going with this game and can't wait to play it this year.

6. Ni-Oh
I kind of Stumbled upon Ni-Oh during my refresher of some You Tube trailers for the other games on this list. Then all of sudden, I saw this super bad ass game play on an ad and a couple minutes later, I was redoing this list. It was suppose to be the Top Ten but Ni-Oh cut that in half. What is Ni-Oh, I can't really tell yeah looks like an open world samurai mythical game where you cut some stuff up. Anyway it looks sweet and it comes out next month. Check it out, it  might be the hidden gem of the year.

5.Horizon Zero Dawn
PlayStation's Zelda? This is what I keep thinking to myself. The more I see this game the more questions I have. What time period is it what's up with the old nomadic people  living with the Dino bots. Hopefully these questions can be answered. It's good for games to have questions like this. A lot of time, We can usual figure what the game is all about before the game even comes out. In this case, I think we have only been given a small glimpse into a beautifully complex world that I can't wait to explore.

 4.  Zelda Breath of the Wild
What can I say what hasn't already said about Zelda Breath of the Wild. Well it's the only one of two of  games from last year's most anticipated Top  5 games that still manged to stay in the top 5. That I think says a lot by itself. Where other games on that list such as Homefront came out and sucked or Crackdown that dropped 7 spots. I have watched over an hour of gameplay really check it out the amount of game play video released for this game is ridiculous. I think Zelda has that element what makes it bigger adventure than a game should be.  In games such Zelda, Halo and others I feel like, I'm actually saving the world in the most corny way. Where a lot games fall flat and are just games are scale and the epicness of the tale their tell and even after 30 years Zelda still continues to surprise us and I also plan for Zelda Breath of the Wild to be the swan song for my Wii U.

3. Halo Wars 2
I think Halo Wars:1 was a  sadistic pleasure of mine and if wasn't for the remaster of the first one you get if you pre-order the ultimate edition (that has reminded of how great Halo Wars is especially now because it's on PC!), I don't know if HW2 would be this high on the list. I am currently just bouncing from to skirmish to skirmish but every game is a Army build up simulator but in the Halo Universe. There in no other game where you control an army of Spartans, Odst and warthogs at the same time. It's thrilling especially when you have a  back in forth with the covenant or my favorite thing to do is make the Unsc vs the Unsc. It's really cool to see Spartans duking it out. I also just like making story lines in my ahead about why each faction is fighting one another. Also the story of Halo Wars, have been interesting in the past, I think especially impart from them not being a Chief story line. Anyway February 21st can't happen soon enough because I'm ready to raise some armies.
2. Sea of Thieves
Yardy te mates, Yea ready to set sail on the ocean in hunt for treasury and become a legend! I think everyone has been waiting their whole life to be a swashbuckling pirate. Now we can be in Rare's new pirate MMO. I think since AC4 Black Flag the gaming industry realized how big of a hole there was in modern pirate games and hopefully Sea of Thieves can fill that hole. I'm not a huge MMO guy, I have never even really played one aside from dabbling in H1Z1 or DayZ when it was a mod but I think Sea will be different. I think the sense of adventure and working as a team to complete a common goal like killing a giant monster or sinking an opposing teams boat is gonna keep me invested for hours.
1. Red Dead Redemption 2

What can I say. I loved everything about the first one. As someone who catches themselves watching Gunsmoke or the rifleman with their dad about every weekend. I can easily say that Red Dead Redemption 2 is going to be one hell of a ride. The characters, The world and gameplay culminated in something truly special. RDR showed that western can be in video games and even excel farther than there modern counterparts. I am amped to get back on the saddle. I hope to kill few a zombies because if  Undead Nightmare 2 was confirmed than RDR 2 might have a buddy for the second spot on this list.
