The Best Game You've Never Heard Of

In case you haven't already figured it out, it's Viking: Battle for Asgard, and it's amazing. I have been enjoying the heck out of this game. So what's it like, you ask?
Well, you were a viking who was killed in battle; but you were the chosen one, and you didn't die. Of course, it's cliche, but that's not what makes it amazing. I am at the point where I don't hold it against games for having a basic story. Sometimes too much story can be a problem, and having too little can hurt (Destiny). Why do I give this game a break and not Destiny? Well, it's because the setup is not as complicated. Viking's setup is that you and the land of Midguard (Earth) are in charge of building up an army and taking Midguard back. This sounds like usual fare, but in this game, they really mean BUILD AN ARMY. The game lets you battle with 20+ guys while a dragon takes down tons of buildings. It's truly a spectacle.

I like to give new intellectual properties a break because no franchise should be ruined by a bad first game. Sadly, I think that's what happened to the Viking franchise, since it got a Metacrtic score of 68 and it's been dormant for eight years. And with the recent success of Alien Isolation, there is almost no hope for Viking fans.
